The 2014 Calgary International Children's Festival (May 21 - May 24, 2014)

Started in the year 1987 as a joint venture between Calgary Center for Performing Arts and the Calgary Center for Performing Arts and the city of Calgary Parks and Recreation Department, the CICF plays a role of the advocate of Children and their place in the society. The overflowing streets and long queues to book flights is a witness to how big this festival has become, in fact today it is known as the second largest performing arts festival of its kind in Canada. The vision for CICF (Calgary International Children's Festival) is to develop creative thinkers to be more aware and conscious of the world and their place in it.

The 2014 CICF is going to begin on May 21st and will go on to 24th of May. It’s always better to avoid the rush of last minute airline tickets and also make arrangements for stay beforehand. Though because it becomes quite a scene for tourists therefore there aren’t going to be much airline deals or discount flights but every now and then you actually might come across something that makes it possible for you to book flight at cheaper rate if you know how to research well. Be prepared so as to enjoy your travel and be comfortable during your stay.

This year is the 28th annual CICF and will be having shows like Frogz which is a theatrical revue of mime, dance and acrobatics along with Le Groupe Swing which is an urban fold group merging modernism with folklore to create something more hip hop and techno. Also participating would be Sharon and Bram, the most popular family act in North America. Apart from these there would be the retelling of Tea at the Palace, Mary Poppins and the likes along with indoor performances, activities like live music and hands-on activities at the Olympic Plaza etc. The list of the activities that would take place around Calgary International Children’s Festival 2014 is quite large and very exciting for children.

Book flight, make reservations and for those who are in Calgary, take time off your usual day to day chores as CICF 2014 is going to make way into town soon. The tickets for this dynamic festival are on sale already. Book yours now and participate in this Children’s festival that will bring the younger lot in contact with artists and art like never before!
